What this tab tracks
This page tracks patterns, not people: the same kinds of things happening again and again in how ADAMS reports money and answers its members. Each pattern lists every time it has happened, with the source. A pattern only counts what can be shown.
The patterns
The patterns are listed here when the page's scripts have loaded.
Timeline, 2021 to today
Each marker is one event. The letters show which patterns it belongs to. Select a marker to read it. Columns are in date order and are not drawn to scale.
How leadership responds to questions
Scores for written answers on the record, using the 0 to 4 rubric on the Accountability tab, and where recorded promises stand.
The counts appear here when the page's scripts have loaded.
Compared with common practice
Common practice describes how many well-run churches, synagogues and Muslim nonprofits handle their finances. It is general practice, not a claim about any one organization. Named, sourced comparisons are on the Compare tab.
The comparison is listed here when the page's scripts have loaded.
What ADAMS does consistently
What would break the pattern
- Publish the full budget with line items.
- Publish a yearly audit by a licensed accounting firm.
- Report zakat and purpose-given sadaqa separately, monthly.
- Post slides and minutes after every town hall.
- Answer member questions in writing with a date.
One vague answer is an oversight. The same kind of answer, year after year, is a pattern, and patterns are what members should ask leadership to change.
